As part of our Orientation Week at Koc University, ISS ( Internatioal Students Society) arranged for a brunch in Garipce for the exchange students. Garipce is a little fishing village at the point where the Bosphorus meets the Black Sea, only 11 km away from the university. It is really interesting to discover a place that looks and feels so rural so close to the crowded streets of Sariyer.
They had prepared a traditional Turkish breakfast for us. Typical Turkish breakfast includes white cheese (feta), tomatoes, cucumbers, honey and clotted cream, all consumed with Turkish tea. It is definitely different than a typical American breakfast but really great all the same… and nothing could beat that view.
