A New Museum By the Bosphorus

I discovered an amazing place today. Borusan Contemporary is actually the headquarters of one of Turkey’s major holding companies. But on the weekends it turns into an art museum and they are generous enough to give guided tours throughout the building including the  CEO and Company President’s offices… The art work is truly brilliant and the views are incredible.

There is also a cafe on the first floor (which is perfect for warm weather) that makes you feel as if you are sitting in your private porch overlooking one of the world’s greatest views. A friend and I were there this weekend and we had the ‘Quick Breakfast’ and ‘Menemen’ and loved it. The best part was the unlimited coffee or tea that comes with the ‘Quick Breakfast’.  I think I have to go back before the weather starts to get cold. Unfortunately, their indoor cafe has limited seating.

There is also a bookstore on the premises that is worth taking the time to look even just to see the art books on display, I can use one word to describe – dreamy…
